When you access an assignment, you will see a microphone icon toward the right side of the Communication Box on the bottom of the assignment window. You can click this button to activate Speech to Text. Please note that you will need to use Google Chrome as your web browser and you will need a microphone in order to use this feature.
The first time you access this feature, a popup from Google Chrome will appear asking if you want to allow it to use your microphone. You will need to click Allow.
Once you click to activate it, you will see the icon will change to look like it has sounds around it. When you see this icon, you can begin speaking into your microphone to speak to the patient.
Once you speak your question into the microphone, it will show up on the Communication Box. You can then click the Submit button to submit the question to the patient.
Please note that hitting the Enter button on your keyboard when using Speech to Text will not submit the question, but rather will just activate the microphone again, so you will want to make sure you use the Submit button on the bottom of the communication box instead.
