The Reconnecting Error appears when the assignment attempt tries to communicate with the Shadow Health servers and is unable to do so. The attempt will continue to try to communicate with the servers until it receives a reply. When it receives a reply, the error will resolve and allow you to continue working on your assignment.
When you receive this error, please check your network connection to make sure it is still active. To check your connection, please go to www.speedof.me and click the “Start Test” button near the bottom of the page. This test will download and upload a temporary internet file to measure your network connection. Once test is complete, you will receive results for Latency, Download Speed, and Upload Speed. The Digital Clinical Experience (DCE) assignments require at least a 3Mbps download speed with a low latency speed. A latency over 200ms will begin to cause connectivity issues, and if the latency is above 650ms there is a very high probability that your assignment will not load.
If the test fails to run, or your speeds are below the minimum required by the DCE, please restart your modem by unplugging it for a few seconds and then plugging it back in. Once the modem boots back up, please run the test again to see if the connection is stronger.
If the connection is stronger, please reload your assignment. Click the “Return to Assignment” link near the top of the page and confirm you want to leave the page. Then, while on the Assignment Overview page, click the Continue Last Attempt button. This will bring you back into your assignment exactly where you left off.
If the connection is no different, or the test fails, please contact your ISP so they can troubleshoot your connection.
