"Aw Snap" Error Message in Chrome

Last Updated: Feb 25, 2016 11:07AM EST

A small amount of students have experienced an error message, only on Google Chrome, that states “Aw Snap!” when trying to load an assignment. This issue happens when Chrome or the computer does not enough memory to run the assignment.

First check to see how much memory is installed in your computer.

Windows

Click on the Start button and then type System. A program will load and tell you the specs of your computer, and the RAM will be listed in the middle of the page.

Mac

Click on the Apple icon in the top left of the screen and then About This Mac. A program will load and tell you the specs of your computer, and the RAM will be listed in the middle of the page.

Make sure the computer you are using has 4GB of RAM or more. If your computer does not have 4GB of RAM or more unfortunately your assignments will not load as there is not enough available memory. Please see our minimum recommended specifications article for more details or click here.

If your computer has more than 4GB of RAM, try to restart your computer. This will force all open programs to stop and allow your computer to free up system resources.
