Before you can start working on your Shadow Health assignments, you will need to install the Unity web player. This is a very small program that will allow your web browser to load the graphical interface that makes the Digital Clinical Experience so unique. To start, go to http://unity3d.com/webplayer
Once you are there, you will see a blue Download button on the left side, in the middle or bottom of your screen. It should be automatically detect that you are using a Windows computer and show you the download for Windows computers. Click on the blue Download button. Depending on which web browser you are using, the next steps will be a little different.
If you are using Firefox, there will be a pop up box asking if you want to save the file. Click Save File. The download can be found in the Downloads menu, located to the right of the address bar.
When you click on the Downloads button, you will see a list of your recent downloads. The top of that should now say UnityWebPlayer. Click on that to open the file. Simply follow the instructions and Unity will be installed.
If you are using Internet Explorer, after you click the blue Download button, there will be a pop up at the bottom the window, asking if you want to Run, Save, or Cancel the download. You will need to click Save, NOT Run.
Once the file finishes downloading, you will see the option in the same pop up to Run, Open Folder, or View Downloads. Click Open Folder.
This will open the Downloads folder of your computer. Make sure you see a file called UnityWebPlayer. Before you run this file, close all of your Internet Explorer windows. Leaving them open may cause Unity to not install correctly. Once you have closed ALL of your Internet Explorer windows, you can double-click on the UnityWebPlayer file to run it. Follow the installation instructions, and when they are completed, you can open Internet Explorer again.
