How to set your computer to High Performance

Last Updated: Dec 28, 2016 05:47PM EST

The Digital Clinical Experience (DCE) is a revolutionary program that is designed to work across many different systems and platforms. To ensure that it will run as well as it can on your laptop, we suggest you follow these few steps to give the DCE the power it needs.

  1. Plug the power adapter into your laptop.

By plugging the power adapter into your laptop, you are giving the DCE a continuous power source to draw upon. When you do use your power adapter, the battery icon in your system tray will change to indicate that it is plugged in.

  2. Access the Power Options menu.

After your laptop is plugged in, left click on the battery/power adapter icon in the system tray. In this screenshot, the laptop was set to the Balanced settings. If you see High Performance as an option, select the radio button that is next to that option and click anywhere off the menu. The setting will instantly apply and save. If you don't see the High Performance option, click More Power Options to advance to a more detailed menu.

  3. Select a Power Plan

After you have selected More Power Options you will be brought to a detailed menu with different power plans for your laptop. If you don't see High Performance as an initial option, click the arrow on the right side of the menu to reveal more options. Highlighting the gem next to the power option applies it and saves automatically.
